The chaos in Haiti seems to worsen every day. Gangs govern many communities with fear and violence. Clean water remains scarce, increasing the occurrence of cholera and other water-borne infections. Children and families are hungry and are unable to access food safely and consistently. The economy is at a standstill, completely paralyzed by exorbitant prices for even the most basic necessities.
What can we do? We can unite on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Haiti and stand in solidarity beside them. We can remain “joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12). We can, together, “approach God’s throne of grace with confidence,” (Hebrews 4:16) asking Him to sustain our Haitian family and friends with mercy and grace in their time of need.
