Poverty, natural disasters, political instability, and gang violence have long ravaged Haiti. These challenges have created a cycle of oppression and despair that weighs heaviest on those least able to help themselves: the children. Many children under ten are forced to fend for themselves on the streets, struggling to survive, let alone dream of an education or a brighter future.
In response to this overwhelming need, Hope for Haiti’s Children began its mission to care for orphans in 1998 by establishing the Cazeau Christian Orphanage. In partnership with dedicated local Christian leaders, we provide a loving home for those with no one else to turn to. Today, 63 children call the Cazeau Christian Orphanage their home, where they receive shelter, food, clothing, access to medical care, and nurturing support.
At the orphanage, children experience a stable and joyful environment where they can thrive. They engage in normal childhood activities like playing soccer and basketball, learning English, and developing basic computer skills. They even help raise chickens and turkeys! Weekly choir practice is a highlight for many, as the children love singing for special events. In addition, older teens take sewing and cooking classes, helping to equip them with practical skills for adulthood.
Most importantly, every child at the orphanage memorizes Scripture and participates in group devotionals and worship, growing in their faith and understanding of God’s love. Our mission is to nurture, educate, and equip these children to experience life to the fullest (John 10:10) and to shine the light of Christ (Matthew 5:16) in Haiti.
