Cite Soleil Christian Elementary School
Cité Soleil (pronounced Sĭ-tā Sō-lāy) is a large seaside slum in Port-au-Prince, marked by poverty, gang violence, and hardship. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, Cité Soleil Christian School stands as a safe haven, protected behind a metal gate. Here, children arrive each day in clean uniforms, eager to learn despite their difficult surroundings. For many, the school’s hot, nutritious meal is the only one they receive that day—a daily reminder that hope, education, and care can shine even in the darkest places.
