NBC Covers David's Story of Survival
David Senatus left Haiti on March 15, 2010 to receive a life saving surgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Amazingly, on April 26th, he and his father returned home stronger and so very grateful. We are all so thankful to the multitude of people who came together to make it all possible. David is back in Haiti and doing well. He will be on medications for the rest of his life, but we are so thankful that he is here with us and are able to see his bright smile return!

Christmas Joy Boxes... |

 Each year, Hope for Haiti’s Children works with churches and individuals to pack Christmas Joy boxes to send to our sponsored children. Many of you are probably aware that last year the boxes arrived into Haiti safely, but the Customs Office in Port-au-Prince was holding them for what we might call a “ransom.” HFHC labored and pleaded with the Customs Office to release the joy boxes before Christmas, but negotiations failed each time.
After the earthquake, we feared that they would be destroyed or lost, but a few weeks ago, we were contacted and informed us that the joy boxes were all still there! Thanks to generous donations, we were able to pay the “storage fee” and get all of them out.
 The timing seemed somehow perfect--the following week a medical team was scheduled to arrive to conduct a clinic for our sponsored children. Perhaps, it was part of God’s plan knowing that these children would have a greater need to receive these gifts now after experiencing so much heartache.

 Update on David - 4/26/2010
Today, David leaves the U.S. for Haiti. We are so thankful for the efforts of those who made it possible for him to receive this life-saving surgery.
