This month’s “spotlighted” child is a precious little girl and a powerful reminder of how blessed we are to live in America. Perhaps we too quickly take for granted the amazing access we have to good food, clean water, and world class health care. This is not how life has been for Blandyne Jean. This is her story.

Then her mother became seriously ill with uterine and breast cancer, an aggressive type which quickly deteriorated into stage four cancer; she soon died. Some neighbors and relatives stepped in to help, doing what they could to care for this little family of sisters.
