Joy! Joy!
On April 1st, John Peter Macenat became the 1,000th HFHC sponsored child for education. Thanks to the Ramirez family John Peter is enrolled in school, has the books and supplies he needs, and will go to school each day in hopes of getting an education and helping his family to break the cycle of poverty.
With a startling statistic of 50% of children in Haiti growing up without ever attending school, sponsors around the country are stepping forward to make a difference for those children left behind.
Investing in a child's life through sponsorship not only brings hope and opportunity to that child, but also strengthens their school with tuition to hire quality teachers and provide desperately needed resources.
A very special thanks to the Southeast congregation in Friendswood, TX for helping us reach this important milestone! During their "Barefoot Sunday" event, their members not only collected over 3,000 pairs of shoes but also pledged sponsorship for an additional 70 children.
